Nickel titanium wires - we call them "niti"
- are new wires now available at our office. Nickel titanium is
the metal they are made from. The special properties of this metal
allow body heat to activate or energize the wire that moves your
teeth. This allows longer times between visits, so for you, the
patient, it means less time out of school- and less time off work
for Mom or Dad. The best thing is that with our help, we can acheive
that great smile even faster and with less discomfort.
Our traditional brackets are now smaller than ever
before and in some cases, we can glue all of your brackets on
your teeth without using "rings or bands" on your back
teeth. This means you can usually get your braces on in one appointment.
